About the playoff games:

Helter swelter, it was a weekend of stupendous softball all coaches should be proud of the way their teams played, the only thing hotter than the weather was the pressure cooker games being decided by the final pitch. Last seasons champs New Haven may have bowed out early but they played extremely well. Anyone who plays against Hartford knows they have to be always at the ready of the offensive powerhouse of Phil's boys, they seldom hit into any easy outs. Hats off to Billy's gang who took it to the final pitch of the final inning and finished ever so close to earning their first league championship. Springfield on the other hand played extremely well garnering yet another league title, they took their knack of winning close contest to the abyss and back again. Congratulations to every member of the Southern New England Friendship League for a season of great drama and great fun.

Many thanks are in order.

David Jarnes and the entire board of directors.
