Springfield looked amazing in week one

In opening day had a doozy of a game played between a hard thumping Hartford team taking on an equally determined squad from Springfield. Springfield started out of the gate strong in the first inning aided by a searing line drive homerun to left center by Dale Smith.

Springfield and New Haven's Metroline sweep!!!

Opening day was lots of fun, just ask Springfiled and Metroline!!!! The two teams with new sponsors both swept. Congrats to Mark and Jeremy. Nick and his merry gang split as did Hartford. Both teams in New London played close games but came up short. Next Sunday we are off to Springfield.

Opening Day!!!

The long winter has finally said its goodbye’s. Your Southern New England Softball League is about to begin its 2011 season. We start the season by saying hello to a pair of new sponsors, two new mangers and several new players. Not to mention two new members of our board of directors.

• New Haven has a new sponsor, the historic Metroline publication

Best Wishes for a Great Season

As most of the veterans of this league are aware I will not be able to play this year because of a torn achilles tendon injury suffered during a game in New Haven April 9 and a retear of the same thing during an accident. However I think that the present and future of this league look brighter than ever.
