A brief recap of Sundays action:
In a continuation game New London spanked Springfield and won by 13 runs but the game wasn't nearly that close. New London's impressive season goes on and on it seems the only thing that can stop them is the rain. Springfield fell behind quickly and never could close the gap, the game was mired in fielding miscues by Springfield. One thing that any team cannot afford against New London is giving them extra outs. New London is clearly the odds on favorite storming in to the playoffs having suffered only three losses all season. The second game pitted third place New Haven against Springfield. Perhaps a bit frustrated Springfield came out swinging building an early lead. Teddy was hot all day hitting a few towering shots to the outfield hitting a home run and a triple. New Haven fell behind early but were on the comeback trail when lo and behold the threatening skies opened up and the games were cancelled giving Springfield their 12th win of the season. Let the playoffs begin, I for one am excited about playing the games under the lights of New London. Will their be a sleeper to come on and beat the prohibitive favorite New London, we shall see.
